Installed warcraft 3 frozen throne and the highest resolution is 1280x1024 or something. its a square in the middle of my screen with about 4 inches on either side just blank.. i tried reinstalling etc and updated the game so I can get online and play.

    any thoughts?

The options/graphics menu in the game does not show anything higher for an option?

Some games have an opportunity to set options manually using simple notepad. But I doubt that Warcraft has such file. You can search in folder little file with name settings, options or smth similar. Try to google "Warcraft supports widescreen"

What you would be looking for that James D is talking about is the .cfg file for the games settings in the game folder. Be sure you know what you're tweaking before you do it though as you can really have a funky running game if you change the wrong things. ;) A little searching on google or the forum should net you some results if it's possible. I know with my M11x I had to manually tweak settings because of Optimus, may be the same here.

I can't get to it from work to provide a link but you might want to try the widescreen gaming forums (Google search "widescreen gaming warcraft 3"). Older often didn't natively support widescreen (or other high rez displays). The Widescreen forums often have work a around for this.

there isnt any option higher when i load it on this r3. warcraft 3 is playable 16x1200 i believe the highest which ive been using on my desktop and all other laptops for many years. its just odd that i dont see a higher option on this new r3.

i did a bit of googling.... does this sound like what i need to do?

Are your video card drivers installed correctly??
Just a thought as those games all support the rez. you need without any type of cfg tweaks.

    Just a thought

That's the max Warcraft 3 supports. It's a really old game.

Yes, the in-game option doesn't give you 1080p option. This should work.

Ive been playing it on 16x1200 for like 12 years. On the r3 it just looks really bad I'll get a pic up... Like 3-4 inch borders on either side it may as well fit a netbook with an 11 inch LCD.
