Hi.
I'm looking into buying the M17X R3 and I want to buy it via the small business menu on the Dell website (I don't run a business) as the price in the UK without this is a bit much. I have a friend who does own a business and she's allowing me to put down her business name, my question is, will this be OK? (She runs a legit bed and breakfast business). If you think this will be a problem then I will just order from HIDevolution and save a bit more. I'm not looking to break the law here.![]()
Last question. Is the 2GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6970M really worth £150 extra from the 1GB GDDR5 AMD Radeon HD 6870M?
Regards,
Nall.

if the billing address is different from the shipping address, you will probally have delays.....just a heads up..... if she can put it on her card and you pay her it would make your life easier.

Thanks for the reply, but I've noticed that in the business section, there is no after VAT price, so really there was no saving at all for me.
I've now ordered. -
Actually Steve, I ordered mine threw my business, but had it shipped directly to my home, with the billing address as my business. No delays what so ever.

The 6970m is currently ati's top end card (6990m is coming out but don't know if will be available for the m17x), matched only by the much more expensive nvidia 485m which is not officially supported. The 6870m (or the 460m) doesn't even come close to these two performance wise.
And if you really don't want to pay the ludicrous UK prices and are not sure about using a friend's name, you can also buy it from those (trusted) ebay merchants. I got mine from a friend in the US, paid £1700 (£50 profit for my friend so the laptop itself would be around £1650) for a config that would cost you £2600 on the UK site. No vat or import tax or anything. Even with 20% vat it's still cheaper than the official UK price. Only draw back is going this route will take maybe a week longer for you to eventually get your machine.
