    Hey all,

I'm really enjoying my Alienware 17. I miss having a NUMLOCK indicator, I think that was a silly oversight, and I miss the media buttons but in general I like it.

One thing I've noticed is an absolute total lack of bass and rich sounds in the speakers.

I know this is a laptop and I'm not expecting to be blown away by the sound. But my M17x R4 sounds much better, I've had them side by side.

Is there something I can do to get some bass out of this thing? It sounds rather tinny compared to the R4. Is that just the nature of these speakers? I have a hard time believing that.

The new line was all about cost cutting, may not be too hard to believe the speakers fell victim.

Yeah the internals of mine are much better (proc, graphics card, etc) but the speakers are pretty inferior. Sad. There is absolutely no bass coming out of these things even when I mess with the low range in the equalizer.
