I have a black speck between the glass and screen on my sig rig. With my desk the speck sits eye level. Normally this wouldn't bother me but I have been looking at for awhile and was wondering if I can get to the back of that glass and wipe it off without having to pry the glass off and then re-glue it?
    Thanks!

"but I have been looking at for awhile and was wondering" LOL that would annoy the hell out of me too. Don't know the solution but i hope someone does.

Put a piece of black tape over it, will cover that speck up easy! <veg>

Seriously though, if very lightly tapping it with something plastic (can even cover the screen with a microfiber cloth to prevent scratching) doesn't make it fall down, then I would call Dell and have them come out to fix it. The screen should be sealed against dust particles if I remember right. There are people that have been trying to replace the actual LCD with an RGBLED and say that they have a hell of a time trying to separate the glass.

I dont have warranty. I took my sonicare toothbrush and wrapped a microfiber cloth around it and tried tapping, vibrating, and shouting and its still there 0_0
This is going to be one tough foe.

Sorry timanator, I read your sig wrong I guess, thinking you had an R3. I know next to nothing about the R2 and its hardware. The only other thing I can suggest is do some research and see if your glass is sealed like ours. If it is, then I have no clue how to help. If it is not, find out how to disassemble the LCD a bit and try to lightly spray some compressed air into the housing. The pressure change (even if slight) might be enough to make it fall.

Make sure the air is pure though. Would hate to have you spray more dust into it. Best way to ensure its pure is to use the canned type, though do NOT have the can tilted, else the propellent could cause damage.

Its a gamble but the particle had to get in there somehow...

*Note* I take no responsibility if you damage your LCD by spraying propellent into the housing and freeze your LCD, cause any damage to it by trying to get it open, or inadvertently create a space-time vortex by using any of the above mentioned techniques, or otherwise harm your hardware*

Only throwing ideas out there to help ya!

So I finally got sick of it and removed my outer glass. ZOMG that matte rgbled screen is gorgeous! I'm not going to even bother to replace it. I'm having a custom stainless steel bezel made at my local machine shop. I'll post pictures when I fix my stupid power supply.
