    Hi everybody,

It's been a long time since I posted. I downloaded the new Star Wars battlefront 2 beta and it prompted me saying my drivers were out of date :( I have the AMD 6970m and windows 7 64bit.
Required driver is 15.7 or later. It said go to amd.com and update...I did that and I tried installing Catalyst suite 15.7.1 and after it completes installing it says no graphics driver detected....very very strange. I tried the beta driver as well and still no success.

I am on catalyst version 12.6. (I last updated July 2012 I think)

Previously someone was able to help with a driver that had some files changed to work with the Alienware. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

Has anyone got this working yet with a 980m. It's also asking me to update my drives and I don't really want to mess with them, any suggestions ?

Don't know about amd drivers but for nvidia I've just tried the new 358.50 and I'm not experiencing any serious problem or power throttle at least in games.

Would you mind linking the driver you used? The ones from amd.com do not work for me o_O

Holy cow those are old drivers, definitely need to get the 15.9.1 Catalyst beta, they work GREAT. Huge improvement from what the status was in 2012, AMD drivers have come a long long way from how bad they used to be. You should run DDU in safe mode, then install 15.8 beta in normal Windows. If that doesn't work, I may have a theory as to why. AMD/Alienware implemented muxed switching for the 6870M/6970M/6990M in the M17x R3. You hit the switchable graphics key, and you switch graphics without having to reboot, correct? You just wait like 10 seconds, and it switches adapters. Well, AMD dropped that tech in favor of Enduro in 2012 and completely killed off mux switching as of 14.6. 14.4 Catalyst was the last to support muxed switching. HOWEVER, you can flash the unlocked M17x R3 BIOS and under video settings in the hidden advanced menu, you can change from muxed switch to muxless switching, which should allow you to fully operate the 6970M with the latest drivers. Good luck!
