    I recently started taking my r2 with me to my university and when i use it on battery power i hate turnig it on cuz it makes that loud beep which makes everyone look at me. Is there a way to disable that.

    Not sure about the R2 but it can't be turned off on the R1. I presume its probably the same for the R2.

    There is an option in BIOS to turn the "power on with no AC adapter plugged in" beep off.

    edit: - press F2 during startup to get into BIOS and then under the POWER options is the option to disable A/C Adapter Warnings' I had to go and double check :) It annoyed me too.
