Very weird problem since I upgraded to a Corsair Performance Pro. First off my 4K writes are 50Mb/s when I think I should be getting around 75 but thats not my worry. That I can live with.

The funny thing is that I get electronic feedback like popping from the speakers every time the drive receives any type of write process such as installing a program or copying over some files. I dunno why. Could be something to do with the SSDs full metal body? Never had a problem with my Wildfire SSD. I've checked the speakers etc to make sure that no wires are frayed. All seem fine. Reinstalled the audio drivers as well.

    Any suggestions?

PS I would fully recommend this drive though. Speeds are mind blowing.

Do you have the latest verison of IRST installed? Makes a world of difference for SSDs.

I would check also latency. Popping sound could be bad latency related

And how would I go checking it?

@dragon yes I can see a bit of difference. Boot times have speed up by another second. Plus the main reason I upgraded was to have more space.

4K writes are not unusual. Check this review

I have Samsung 830 256Gb, 4K writes are bit low (around 55-60mb) when i compare it with reviews. This is mainly due to desktop vs notebook results.

Try DPC Latency Checker or LatencyMon.

SSD crackling seems to be solved *fingers crossed*. I left my computer on for a few hours for the SSD's own "garbage collection" to do some work and I think it did everything. Also I noticed that boot times were much quicker when I uninstalled the Intel RST. Anyone know why?

Also a new problem as arisen. Seems like the sound card is going into suspension mode when it is idle. I'm not saying that it is a bad thing but the when audio is started the first few miliseconds is cut off as the sound card starts up again. Any thoughts?

You probably activate sound card power saving feature. Check IDT control panel (last tab) for power saving settings.

Aah thanks alot! That did the trick! +Rep!

Edit: I should probably post this in another thread but for kicks, I have to tell you this drive is amazing. It is the same Marvel Controller as you get in the M4 but it is coupled with the premium Toshiba Toggle Nand. It is like an M4 on steroids basically.

Edit2: Crackling is back. I will leave for some time again to see if the idle time stops it again.

Can you check if the crackling occurs under power saving mode or battery? or if some peripheral like a gaming mouse can be unplugged to change (even slightly) the power draw?
Just throwing that out there. Changing the power draw or the number of interacting components always helped me with my "buzzing" problems.
