    Hi guys.

I was gaming earlier and noticed a invisible line on my screen that would be visible when anything moves through it.

For example, when i drag a window on my screen there will be a thin line at that will distort the border of the window.

This is very hard to describe but hope somone knows what i mean.

    Thanks.

Its marks from where the screen touches your keyboard while it's closed. It's oil form your fingers. Should be able to wipe it right off. This is a well known issue with current Alienware laptops.

i cant tell if this is sarcasm lol. Apologies if it's not.

It is defently something up with the screen/graphics itself. just did a restart and it is not there now.

Can somone please try their best to give some insight as to what this line is?

Sometimes it is at the top of my screen, then it moves down to the middle etc.

As i said; VERY hard to explain so i hope somone understands me :)

    Thanks.

If you can't find help here, then I suggest you call up Tech Support. I haven't run into this problem, and if nobody has been able to give you any insight, then Dell Tech Support is your only other avenue.

Linkim - what video card do you have?

I have noticed something similar to what you have described on my system. It is almost always within the upper quarter of my screen (generally within the top inch or so of the display area) and moving a window horizontally it is more obvious than it is moving the window vertically (up and down).

I have tried to get a screen shot of this, but it does not show up in a screen shot. It's almost like the top portion of the window you move horizontally has a hard time keeping up with the movement of the rest of the window. If you move the window down a bit (out of the affected area) there is no distortion.

Sounds like what i am having. Howver my line can be at the top then be at the bottom etc. But yes, sounds like the same issue.

My card is the 6990m. I had it replaced 2 weeks because my previous one was faulty, and now this? I am on the 12.2 preview drivers.

I think it must be something with the display panel. It does not do it all of the time.
