    Hello peepaw, ;)

My 17x is being a bad lad when playing any games. I know you answered this question A LOT, but what should I do if my 280m SLI  run the game smoothly for like 20 secs, and then FPS suddenly drops to like... 5 or so for 5 seconds, and then gets back to normal. Help pweees?

What game? BC2 does that once every time I join a game, but it's non-recurring. Does it do it over and over? More info plz!

That's called throttling. Try using these drivers or these, you'll have less issues with them. Also some people say with the A06 BIOS get less system throttling so you might want to flah that too, doesn't seem to bring any other issues.
    cheers

EDIT: remember to clean the old ones first, uninstall them and use CCleaner for any remainders, reboot and install eighter of the above.

when did you clean your laptop inside?--i had the same every game lost performance- short after run-heat was a problem. i open my alienware after 6month use and i was surprise how vents was locked by dust. throttling is also another way to prevet burn your cards
