    I have a strange issue. Ive been merrily playing away on BFBC2 all day and now all of a sudden when I log into a map the frame rates have dropped by at least 30%? None of my settings have changed and no new software or hardware has been added since this began happening.

    So far I have tried the following in order to fix the issue;
    - re-installing the 10.7 ATI drivers over the previously installed version (10.7) - didnt work
    - clearing out all drivers and doing a fresh install - again didnt work
    - doing a system restore to a previous time - again no joy

    I am running in high performnce mode and im not in stealth mode.

    Anyone got any ideas or can advise me?

    Could be that. I am using 11.6 and don't have this problem, you gotta remember that the more recent drivers are made for the 6XXX series. So that may not be as good for the 5870's. :(

    Run 3dmark06 or Vantage to see what your score is. Also check temps using GPU-Z and run in background and save to a log to make sure Crossfire is enabled.

    then your next step should be to monitor temps of your gpu/cpu as well as fan operation using software HWiNFO, and do a few runs of vantage or 3dm06 see what the max your gpu's cpu's reach and also would hurt to clean out your vents with some air in a can if you haven't done so yet.

    I tried downgrading to 11.6 and that didnt solve the problem.

    I then ran 3DMark11 and my score is P2640 3DMarks. Im guessing from the big red "STOP" sign and the notification that my score is low that things are not as good as they could be.

    Also find attached a screenshot from GPU-Z

    I got the same problem with my R2. Try to disable crossfile from catalyst interface and run BFBC2 again...for me it works perfecly with crossfire disabled. Maybe if we reinstall windows ?! I've tried everything and nothing seems to work. I have also noticed alot of people are experiencing this drop in fps...wiered indeed.

    Another thing ... from the screenshot u've posted i see the GPU CORE CLOCK is running at 405 instead of 700 MHZ. Is it true ? or it's because you have alt-tab and the freq dropped ?

    yeah I tried running on one graphics card and it was the same slow framerate. Its strange it suddenly dropped for no reason. I also had a few programs running the background when I ran the 3DMark thing so I am gonna restart and run it again without any other programs doing things in the background.
