I've got an m17x R3 with a 460m. I have been playing Oblivion on max settings with good framerate, never had any issues. Today I got Skyrim installed and set up. Loading it up took a very long time, and when I finally got in the frame rate just crawled, I couldn't play. I thought I needed to lower my settings, so I did, and it was still the same.

I booted up Oblivion to see if the problem was with Skyrim only, but Oblivion is also unplayable. What could be causing this? When playing Oblivion my computer usually has the fans going pretty heavily, but now they are silent, almost like my card isn't even trying to do anything. Everything has been working just fine until I installed Skyrim. Now I can't play anything....thoughts?

Are you on an integrated GPU?

The games are both recognizing my 460m as my graphics card. I don't think I can even switch to integrated graphics.

I tried swapping drivers, but I can't install a new one. It just hangs at "Installing 3D Vision". Device manager recognizes my card. Games are booting with good graphics. Just no tolerable framerate.

All of my power plans are fine. I was monitoring MSI Afterburner while trying to run games, and it looks like my GPU clock is stuck at 200Mhz. I can't change it, and when the game runs it maxes out the available 200Mhz. I don't know what possibly could have changed it, or what is preventing me from changing it back.

Disregard. I am a moron. It wasn't detecting my AC power, so my graphics card wasn't kicking in. Fail?
