    Hello All.

I Hope you can help me Out. I have a Strange problem, that occured after some 3d Mark Testing. Everything was good after test, even played Wow a Little. It got tired and I decided to stop playing and shut Down the computer. Next Day i startet her Up, only to hear 8beeps..

I Then hooked it Up to My tv and bootet with no problem. I can Then unplug the HDMI and continue playing with no problem at All.

But if I decided to reboot it goes 8beeps again. Looked it Up and can be dead lcd- but Screen is working perfectly fine, can be Mobo but it Still Works good? It could also be My 880m gfx, but Then again after Boot to tv Screen and unplugging HDMI i can Play All that i want, Just untill i reboot.

    Whats going on here?

Will it Work to remove cmos batt?
I even tried reflashing the bios but didnt Work.
Oh and its a 2014 model

Hope you can help me Out :)

Do you have Win10 and EVGA Precision X installed and using it the same time?

    Then here we go:

    EVGA Precision X bricking Screens

Edit: Basically your Screen's EDID firmware has been corrupted by EVGA Precision X. You have to reflash it with the original one to get your Screen working again.

There's a Guide on how to do this in the above mentioned thread, but I don't remember anymore where exactly. Maybe @t456 may kindly chime in and provide some assistance?

Thanks you all! I see a Light at the end of the tunnel now :)!

But I did however run into some trouble.
I did Flash the linux onto a usb stick and bootet pc into that, I followed the instructions in the txt file but..

I fail to do Step number 1 - check pnp id -panel med.txt for the correct bin in the folder.

Where and how do I check wich panel I have on the labtop? :)
Sorry I might not understand it completely

Ah, yes ... that's easy; run MonInfo (on Windows). It'll pull the current edid (which has the panel's part nr.) from the registry or directly from the panel's eeprom, depending on the OS it's running from. Alternative is step 11 (' sudo ./edid-rw 6 | edid-decode', substituting 6 for your bus): Ouput ' Manufacturer: SHP Model 13ff Serial Number 0' = SHP13FF, which is the pnp id of that panel. Either method assumes that the pnp id part of the edid is still uncorrupted, of course, but we haven't seen examples where that wasn't so.

When you have the pnp id, copy the matching .bin, rename it to something shorter such as 'panel.bin' and flash that. Might also copy/paste the 'Raw data' section (or step 9) and drop it here; gathered 360 edids from various sources and perhaps I've got a better version for your panel. Could also make a 60Hz+ version if you like; all stock edids on non-120Hz/3D/gsync panels are 60Hz only, but there's room for four timings on a standard 128 byte edid. An IPS will be limited to ~70Hz, but a TN can easily reach 90Hz or more. Of course, there's tools such as CRU, but with an edid it'll be hard-coded in the display, making software redundant.

    Thanks alot :)
Will try it Out if I Just could get Ubuntu working again, atm it seems to freeze within the first 10sec after loading up. Tried reflashing it to usb stick not working but its the same. Kinda frustrating.

I believe I found Out with MonInfo the panel is called Sam0A70

Edit: xD! The Sam0A70 is ofc My Samsung TV Screen...
    Labtop panel is called LGD02DA

    Got Ubuntu working again somehow :) i see there is 2 bin's for the Screen a v0.2 and a v1.0 ?

Hello All, I finally figured out how to unbrick the Screen :)! With some help (alot) from t456.

First thing first. If you have a switchable Intel gpu / nVidia gpu make sure you are ON the nVidia gpu otherwise it wont Work..

I made the mistake by being on hd4600 and lubuntu made all kinds of Problems to freezing on boot up and not able to use curser and so on.. Every thing went away when switching to nvidia gpu(880m) for me, dont know why I didn't do it earlier.. Also some commands in the terminal wouldn't work, but also did after switching to NVidia gpu

Also in the instructions (im a noob to this) the last few steps:

    12 cd ..
    13 cd write-edid
    14 sudo bash ./write-edid.sh 6 ABCDEF.bin

When I typed in cd write-edid in step 13 it wouldn't locate the folder.. And would reply back with unable to locate it..

I simply copied the write-edid.sh and my panel.bin file from write-edid folder to edid-rw folder. Not sure why I couldn't make this work, but it did after copying the files to that folder.. :) And important to find the right bus to write to, mine was on 1.

Hope this can help some body else facing this problem

    Nice job .

Now, did you flash the stock v1 LGD02DA edid or my 60+72+84+90 Hz mod :vboops: ? If so, then you should see the three overclocked refresh rates in the monitor's property window.
