    Hi
As above my pc suddely seems to hate doing more than one thing at a time .

I have also lost some WEI marks on the hard drive score from 5.9 to 4.7 .
This pc has always been very fast and did multiple things together very well .
Now if im running a spyware scan with ie Antimalwarebytes and try to open the internet or anything else it seems to take forever ....
I use Norton 360 and all scans with Norton , Antimalwarebytes and Superantispyware are clean .
I have defragged, scanned and disc cleaned .
I have checked with Intel rapid storage and verified the raid set up and it says all is well etc .
I use ccleaner etc but it just seems so sluggish .
The only thing to have changed before this was the new ATI drivers

Is there anything else i can try before i format it .
Some of the shortcuts on the control panel take ages to open up , like 30 seconds or so if they open up at all .
Im hoping someone can help with something i cant think of to speed her up again .

Fed up with it now :( :(

Try using 1 stick of RAM at a time. Sounds like dodgy memory.

I would remove Norton 360, and both your malware/spyware scanners as they have a very large memory footprint and slow your system down. A very effective, small footprint antivirus/spyware scanner is Avast. They have a free version which is excellent, fast and doesnt take away from system performance. Norton 360 is a disgrace.

Run Memtest86+ and that will tell you if you have faulty ram. .

If you hadn't used Norton from day one, and used it without for a couple days, you would have noticed.

The pc has been fine with 360 on it for 8 months ... surely it cant just suddenly slow it down yesterday for no reason , there must be something else slowing it or something isnt working properly

I too use norton 360 and I can assure you it doesn't slow down this beast even a bit. Now try booting in safe mode and perform a complete system scan. I see your hdd score went down so could be a faulty hdd.

Well i've done safe mode scans with all and nothing found ....This is really frustrating .
Hopefully tomorrow i'll have time to play around a bit more with memory etc .
Ill run the diagnostics from the disks which came with the pc .

It's so easy to test the memory why don't you do that first? Scanning etc takes hours and memory swap takes 1 minute max. 2GB ram is enough to run decently and gives you the opportunity to test for stuff like you mentioned in the first post (eg. control panel stuff taking longer than 30 secs to open).

Norton 360 does slow your pc down. It is a lot of bloatware that doesn't pick up on all viruses/spyware anyway. If you were to uninstall it and your other 2 spyware scanners you will find your pc running a lot faster. Besides having more than one resident scanner loaded would slow down your machine as well.
