    Hello alien brothers,

I have recently discovered that my computer runs SLOW as of lately (the applications are slow and my windows theme always wants to change to basic for some reason). I checked my CPU usage and it was only at 2% however my measly 4GB of Ram is COMPLETELY used up (I only had 2 websites open and World of Warcraft running).

I installed HWmonitor and found that I am only using Dual Channel DDR3 ram and only 2 2GB sticks. Can I replace these with 4GB sticks? Should it just be plug and play or is there anything in the BIOS I need to do after physically installing. I have never installed more ram into a laptop before. Also, do you have any suggestion on which RAM to buy and RAM that is compatible with my 17xR3 (like 1600 vs 1333)?

    Thanks all!

You should have no issues as long as it is DDR3 204 pin RAM... I would get whatever is cheapest but at least of 1333MHz speed...

Thanks! I ordered some Crucial 8GB (2x4GB) that is DDR3 204 pin 1600mhz. Hopefully I'll see an improvement boost over my 4GB. Couldn't justify another $100 for 8 more Gigs. 8 should be fine for what I do.

Yes you can just change it for 2x 4GB ones with the same speed. It should be plug and play.
