    Hello,

So I'm in the market for the m17x R3, but I'm on the fence about when to buy.. It's probably best for now to wait until closer to August since as far as I know there are no current promotions for the m17x, unless you wanted a 3D model which I don't want..

I have also read in the forums that potentially in June there would be an upgrade to the GPU in the m17x, is this true?

Are there any other events, dell or alienware, that are known about, or annual events (back to school, memorial day, etc.) that happen in June/July/August?

Actually if you buy a computer 699 or above with Windows 7 and are a student who attends a highschool or college with an .edu youj can recieve a 4gb Xbox 360 slim model. Basically if you do not want the Xbox you could sell it to someone when you recieve it and get some money back. Here is a link that has the details: Students, We?ve Got You Covered

Check the link, only the m14x model qualifies, the m17x sees no 360 love.

+1 for high school grads looking for a good deal for college. The m14x would have been perfect if it had options for a 6970m and a 1080p screen

haha lol, +1 for hs grads definitely, the m14x just needs better GPUs & 1080p as technos said (6970m and the 460m), blu-ray support, and it be perfect. also i think the m17x needs a small price cut, its a little bit expensive even for AW, -$100 i think the system be at a fair starting price or at least if they do upgrade the gpu (485m with optimus please) make it a fair price lol

HP now has 1080p on their dv6 and dv7, IIRC on NBR's homepage. So if OP really wants a cheaper/smaller 1080p solution...Otherwise, go for the m14x or 17x and haggle them.
