Hey Guys I'm planning on upgrading from a 560m to a 580m in my r3 but it has a 3d screen so would I still be able to upgrade? How would I go about doing that? And would I need a new heatsink? Thanks

I did the swap from the 460m to 580m (3d as well) with no issues. If you get the card through dell like I did, ask for the revised back cover and new heatsink to be included in your order; they fulfilled my request with no issues.

As long as it's one of the officially supported nVIDIA cards, you'll still be able to use 3D. The 580M is one of them.
If you order it from Dell this is what you need to ask for:

    RFYN9 N12E-GTX2 GeForce GTX580M Kit (Video card 3MF8R + Thermal Assemblies V1K2G) (For the throttling at 78C°)

I have no idea, unfortunately, sorry. But you can always call them and ask for a quote.
Expect a pretty high number though.

Alternatively, what you could do is source the card separately (i believe there are a few for sale on NBR too) and just buy the revised heatsink kit from Dell.
