This has been happening to me since I've first received my machine. I'll be in a game and randomly I will be pulled into Windows with a pop-up from Alienware OSD stating that I'm now on battery life, and after a micro-second, another pop-up from OSD telling me that I'm plugged in.

My system is in fact plugged in every time. I'll even test the cable to ensure that it isn't loose. I've first received my machine in April, had some issues, got a replacement in June, and I have been living with this annoyance ever since.

Anyone have any advice or experiencing this issue?

Sounds to me like your PSU is tripping. When this happens, check the PSU and see if the power light on the PSU or power cord (I'm not familiar with the R3 powerpacks) and see if it's still on. If it's off, then your PSU has tripped. Unplug it from the wall and wait 10 seconds. This should reset it.

However, this sounds to me light a bad PSU. Call Dell and tell them your PSU is tripping a lot.
