Seems like the newest upcoming Intel Storage driver will enable TRIM for all RAID drives. Looks like I'll be getting another Wildfire then!
Intel Bringing TRIM Support To RAID0 With RST 11.5 | StorageReview.com

**sigh** after I just spent weeks reinstalling everything to a split dual SSD array. I'm not going back now. I have one OS/Apps SSD, and one Gaming SSD, and a storage drive. The SSD RAID 0 really didn't make a noticable differance.
Nice find though. -

if you're already running fast SSD's, why risk RAID0? Raid0 is one of the riskiest things you can do. Hard drives fail all the time...one drive fails in your raid0 and you lose everything
-
I totally agree with the danger in RAID0, but I store my important files on a separate drive so there is no risk related to RAID0 in my case. It is nice to see an update to RST is adding the TRIM functionality for RAID0.
As I see it, purchasing two SSD drives in the 128Gb range for the same or less than one 256Gb SSD and having the increased read/write speeds is a win-win situation. I am having to install most of my games and apps to a 750GB drive as it is because 128Gb is simply too small. Having everything installed to SSD would be nice, but I am not willing to pay the ludicrous prices that larger SSD drives are fetching... highway robbery, LOL.
I will wait on the RST update and see how well it works for the early adopters. If it's not buggy, I may move my BluRay burner to a eSATA or USB enclosure and use the internal optical bay for my (data) drive as DR650SE has in his setup. -
Yea, The fast writes are nice, though I didn't notice too much of a change from RAID 0 to a seperate SSD> BUt thats mainly for my own stuff. However, I kept RAID 0 for a while because I'm constantly making backups of both my OS/Apps drive and my storage drive (1TB). Now instead of imaging two drives, I create image of three. OS/Apps, gaming drive, and storage drive. Makes me kinda wish I had all the money in the world to sink in to an X7200 for. Run three SSDs in RAID 0

i use raid-0 with intel gen1 after 5 years the both drive serve me well, recently intel RST report faulty on 1 drive, and finally i upgrade to kingston hyper x 240gb and i feel that no need raid-0 for sata 3 drive... it already fast enug
btw.. glad to know that raid is support trim .. -
Guys there is good news:
Intel Rapid Storage Technology Roadmap: Windows 8, SSD RAID TRIM and Many More by VR-Zone.com -
so 4 months left to wait?

Sounds good to me, just installed a raid 0 system on mine
Back up on a regular basis to an external drive so if they fail i don't lose to much data....... -
Congrats man, notice any improvement compared to your single SSD setup?
-
I really didn't notice any real life usage difference on my part in ssd raid 0 with 2 hyperx 120gb. True the diskmark is insane, but running crysis, mw3, or wow, didn't notice a big difference in load speed, like maybe 1 or 2 second faster.
Went back to single ssd with the 750gb as storage to get trim support -
No differences?
I've just bought two samsung ssds for raid 0 :/ -
Not visually at all.
-
WEll SSDs are fast in themselves, Boot time was maybe a few sec quicker, but to me it just wasn't worth losing TRIM over. Awesome for bragging rights though, Check out the numbers in my sig raid link
-
Tsunade_Hime such bacon. wow
RAID 0 SSD would be useful if you copy huge files...but most users can't tell the difference between SATA 1 and SATA 3 SSD...not to mention RAID 0 SSDs lol.
If your SSD has a controller that can deal with GC without TRIM (Intel G1, old school Samsung SSDs) then IMO it's not an issue. It's newer SSDs that can't handle GC without TRIM that are going to be in trouble. Hence I always found those Sony Z series with RAID 0 SSDs pointless.
But I have a setup like DR650SE. My OS is on the 120 GB which has like 80 GB left and my games are on the 160 GB SSD. Love having dual SSDs. -
DR650
I saw the number. That's why I bought the second ssd.
Now I have two samsung 128gb ssds...
If there is no diffrences (or little) maybe I'll install one ssd for os and app, and the second one for games.
I saw also this

Could you please show me the picture of your laptop. The side of the laptop where this caddy is installed. Is there a hole in the place where the DVD was? -
Yea, the slot is still there, but it doesn't look like a huge hole. Look slike it did before. I have a few pics of it in my sig (1TB internal)
-
Slot caddy mod was actually more involved then I thought it was going to be! Worth it though, for the extra storage.
