Check that the fan connector is well placed then use hwinfo64 to check the fan rpm on load

Go to sensors tab and enable DELL-EC sensor when the screen pop up when u open the sensors tab

Scroll down to where the GPU is and give it time for DELL-EC to load ur rpm

    GTX 880M....
They tend to run hot because they are 125W GPUs. Not sure exactly what temps though.

Run HWInfo64 and post screenshot showing max temps you get during gaming.

Oh my. 91C for the GPU. Thats quite toasty, but its not too high for the GPU that it will harm it.
Someone else that own AW17 and 880M should chip in here what temps they get though.

3600RPM is the highest speed the fan can go so it looks like the fan runs like it should.

Repaste your GPU with gelid GC Extreme and get some good thermal pads like Phobya XT for it.. problem solved..

As the man said you really need a repaste... Before repasting I saw temps up to 95c on 880m and after repasting the most intensive of games never went above 82c

CPU fan max RPM is ~4600, GPU fan max RPM is ~3400. You will be close to that, my GPU at load sits at 3700 RPM but I have a different fan installed. The fans are capable of 5000+ RPMs but Dell decided it would be a good idea to lock them down. The best thing I've found to do on these machines is undervolt the GPU, I run my 780M at stock clocks with .95V, and see ~65C in game. You'll need the unlocked vBIOS to adjust that though.

I'm unfamiliar with Mr Fox's modded driver but I would assume it would not have any impact on the fans.

The fans are controlled by the EC and the only way to change how they behave is to use HWiNFO to control the fan table. The max fan speed is currently non-adjustable and will more than likely stay that way forever.

to be sure that your fan are fully functional, hit the little red fan icon on hwinfo and set it manually to max speed. Check the readings (and listen to the sound it makes)
