    Hi all,

I recently saw the BookArc for the MacBook and it really got my attention. Searching on Amazon and Google I couldn't find a product equivalent for Alienware. Does anyone know of any product that could would give the same effect?

I'd like to build a desktop system dedicated to gaming, but am not quite there in terms of cash yet. So I figured I'd purchase the monitor, SSD, keyboard, mouse, and speakers for the time being and hook them up to my M17X-R2 as makeshift desktop. Has anyone thought of or done this sort of setup before and could give me advice? Will the images come across clearly using an HDMI from laptop to external monitor or will it lag? Would this idea even work well?

I'd appreciate any assistance in the matter. Thanks!

    My specs are...
    i7-720QM
    xFire 5870
    4GB DDR3
    500GB+500GB Momentus XT

I have a 256GB Samsung 830 and a 750GB Momentus XT on the way and am planning to do a fresh install of W7.

No lag on HDMI out. I sometime hook mine up to my 40" Samsung when i wanna play a bit of BF3 on the big screen and use a controller. Works exceptionally well, i might add.

I know a lot of people do what your suggesting (with the whole external K/b, mouse and monitor combo)
