Hi guys, i went into Can You Run It? to check if i am able to play the game "Homefront", i ran the test and it said i have the minimun requeriments to play it, i went into the recommended tab to check what i need to improve on my lap to play this as well and it said that my only problem is the video card because the game needs 1GB and i have 748.7, which is strange cause i have a (single) 5870, is there something wrong with my card?

    Your fine.

The "can you run it" program (? script ?) is just not detecting your card correctly.

Once again, your card is fine and I am sure you will be able to play the game.

haha, thanks dude, i know, but, how to be sure this is not another failure?, i just dont find the sense for that result, if i have a hardware with 1GB of ram, it shoud be recognized, you never happen when you have a disk recognized for your machine but at the end this doesnt work?, im afraid there is something wrong, i wanna to be able to know what it is or how to test with another software to disscard any problem. Thanks a lot

That site is really bad at property detecting your hardware. I tried it once, and it reported several things incorrectly. Not worth using in my opinion.

In other words, there's nothing wrong with your hardware. The only issue is the methods that site uses to detect your hardware.

If you want additional assurances, try getting the system info with HWiNFO32. It is what a couple Alienware phone techs used on my wife's old M17x-R1 when it was having freezing/lockup issues & they remotely connected to it to troubleshoot.

    HWiNFO32 Download

After it runs, you will see your video card information on the right side of the system summary. The memory amount is about 4 lines down on the right side. There is also additional information in the tree of the main program.

    Good luck!

nzgeek, debaucher, Tazalanche, thanks for your time, i am i calm now because some of you did the test, and if you got the "same" wrong readings, so, there is something bad with the page :)

Yeah. That Can you run it site is pretty bad at retrieving information. My specs are listed in my signature & it stated my single 5870m had 2.7GB memory (I'm running the 11.2 ATI drivers, not the Dell/Alienware drivers from last year).
