Got the R3 ordered from HIDevolution, configured a Vertex 2 240gb with a momentus XT as the second drive.

This is my first SSD experience, I know it opens up program quicker and is more durable. When I look at the forum all the time, I see people's comment so I just want to reassure and get some advise :D

Usually you would install the OS on the SSD, how about games? or even other apps (iTunes, Steam, AVG etc.) Would u use the precious space of the limited SSD? Will it provide a huge benefit?

Will the performance of the SSD drop over time?

As a starter, should I try some tweaks?

    Thankss

Failure rates of SSDs are between 1% and 3% per year. So, you should make sure you backup your SSD on a regular basis because when a SSD fails, it usually is completely unrecoverable. A 240GB SSD is fairly large but I would still consider installing games on your Momentus XT. In general you should try to keep a fair amount of free space on your SSD so that you won't lose performance over time. These new SSDs use TRIM so you won't experience the performance degradation that early adopters had with the 1st gen SSDs.

Lastly, you shouldn't need to do any tweaks assuming you did a clean install to the SSD. The reason you don't want to clone to an SSD is because Windows 7 detects the SSD during the install and will automatically configure TRIM, disable defrag, etc.
