Hey all, so there has been a lot of talk of using the 330w PSU with our machines. I have heard people talk about it not charging the battery but also people claiming that it is plug 'n' play with their systems working perfect.

Please post your own experiences or link to other posts you have read regarding this mystery. I plan on getting one for myself while benching and I want to be making a worthwhile investment.

I hope for this thread to be the go to place information regarding the PSU's.

For those of you who have the 330w, please post your degree of success, which model machine and what bios plus the OEM maker of your PSU (Delta, Flextronics etc).

    Thanks!

AC Adapter XM3C3 ADP-330AB (Delta) $40, now they're asking $130...PnP (No Modding Required) Battery charges fine, no issues whatsoever. Best $40 upgrade ever... :D

This goes for the Alienware 17 as well. All of the PSU's are interchangeable for all models, including the AW 14.

Lower wattage PSU's won't work for high-end systems, simply because they can't support the necessary power requirement.

I must investing in to a 330W power supply now. Already use 233 watts on my machine under testing and without modified VBIOS to the graphics card.

We usually send those based on power requirements. For mid-end GFX cards we use the small one and for the high-end GFX cards we use the 330w adapter.
