    Hello, I am looking to get another Alienware laptop, it might replace my M17X R1 or I might keep it along side this one. I am looking for the best components available that I can upgrade in the R3, R4, R5. I already have the best components (minus the drives) for my R1, and I believe I know what is available for the R2, but correct me if I'm wrong.

    I know this is what's available for the R2:
    CPU: i7 940XM
    GPU: 7970M/8970M Crossfire
    RAM: 16GB 186MHz
    SCREEN: RGB LED 1200p

    Please if you can keep your post in the format given below with the specs, it is just easier to view them that way. Thank you! :thumbsup:

    Well for the R4 its the following

    CPU: 3940XM
    GPU: 680M/780M and 7970M
    RAM: 32GB 1600MHz
    Screen: Full HD 1080p (60Hz or 120Hz 3D)

    Considering there's no R5, I'm assuming you mean the Alienware 17 R1? The 4940MX works with it. As for the GPU, the 780M and 880M will work.
