I guess it's always true that games are the ones that drive PC sales. At least for me, the upcoming release of Battlefield 3 was the reason I bought my M17x R3 GTX 580m and 3D screen.
Couldn't wait any longer, so i bought Battlefield Bad Company 2 on Steam, and I was in complete awe at the graphics. It's just amazing to play this game on full HD 1920x1080 with max effects/settings on and in 3D. Can't wait for Battlefield 3 which has better graphics.
Cost for this experience: Priceless
note: I'll buy the retail copy instead of download. Screw greedy EA for not allowing it to be on Steam and instead trying to push it down our throats on their new buggy digital service)

Same here. I only ever play the single player.

Really? campaign? I thought it choked to be honest. In all fairness i only done about 2 hrs of it but multiplayers is what makes BFBC2. Well im my humble opinion anyway.

Origin Dickery: Battlefield 3 not coming to Steam -Destructoid -
I pre-ordered bf3 and after a week or something EA sent me an email with a code that let me get a free game as a thanks for the pre-order. Options were Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2, and Mass Effect 2. I thought that was kinda nice.

There's no doubt that BF3 will push loads of extra PC sales.
Oh, and if you want to improve your experience further, I'd recommend dripping an extra $100 on G35 headphones (or more on a true surround sound speaker setup). Bad Company 2 (and no doubt the upcoming BF3) sounds absolutely awesome with a good surround sound setup.
Still hoping I'll be able to get an M17x R3. I've got no doubt that BF3 will push my comparitively ancient machine to the absolute limit, if it works at all. -
And to think, a $800 desktop can run BFBC2 at max settings, at 1080p. Except for the fact it isn't very portable. But if you use your laptop at a desk anyways, I don't see why one wouldn't build a small-form-factor computer for 1/3 of the cost.
Did you use any of the dell coupons? -
amen brother!
3d is great. I have the 460m and love the 3d! I only buy 3d movies now. I think old 2d movies should be removed from the shelf. Soon enough people will be like, do you remember 2d blu-ray movies and 8-track players? I'll say, I can't believe I had 2d movies!

Once we upgrade to volumetric displays none of this stuff will matter anymore -
Even though the code was early and no nVidia driver magic specific for BF3 (yet), It was entirely playable at full resolution and high settings with my 460m. Could never do 3D at those settings though. FPS was 30 on average.
FYI, I was not able to use 3D with any game when I had to use a scope as a sniper due to focus issues. I think I posted this with my COD experience way back... -
We will see -
Ahem, you can get BF3 from ea/origin for $45 instead of paying full retail price.

If a 460m gets decent frame rates in bf3 then my 5850 should do well, especially on a 900p screen -
The reason I bought my $2500 M17x: a $59 game
