    Hello guys,

I just got a 970m to upgrade my m17x r4. I'm currently stuck on how to apply thermal pad properly to make contact with the heatsink. I tried google and it showed me these 2 pictures. I'm not sure if they are correct or not. I just ordered thermal pads with 0.5 and 1.5 thickness from ebay.

    Thanks.

Depends on your heatsink to some extent, but I usually don't bother with those guides and eyeball it until everything fits right. I prefer using the thinnest possible pads on the chokes as they are the highest point of the GPU, then i make sure all the other pads are thinner too to compensate. This gives you the best contact with the GPU die.
