Hey all, thinking about selling my M17x and was curious if anyone could help me figure out what it's worth.

Bought new, arrived in early December 2009; my total price with tax and shipping came to about $3390. Bought the 3-year all-inclusive warranty in February for about $600 more.

Red shell, 500GB drive, 1900x1200 display, camera with facial recognition, slot load blu-ray combo drive, dual 260M SLI, upgraded from 4GB to 8GB of RAM in March, Core 2 Duo T9800 processor at 2.93 GHz. Upgraded from Win7 Home Premium to Ultimate in April or May. Currently dual-booted with Ubuntu 10.04, both 32-bit and 64-bit editions installed.

Bought it with a 9-cell battery, and bought an extra 9-cell battery for backup in case I needed to travel. Have all CD's and the big manual. Has a custom engraved plate underneath with 'cormyn' on it.

Runs great, but the left GPU fan is making some noise like a ball bearing is wearing out, so I'm going to have a Dell tech come fix it up this week.

Any thoughts on what I might get for selling this thing used?

Turbodtalon has a machine in the marketplace for $1950 shipped. i would think a bit less than that since his machine has the X9100 & 4870s. i would say $1750 is a good price to start with.

I think it'd be tough to offload a R1 right now, a m17x2 with 5870 xfire could be had for around $2000~
