On Dell Canada's web site you can custom build the M17xR3 and when adding the 580M video card the price only goes up like $150.00.

Seems like a mistake so not sure if they'll honor this.

But literally if I take the $1499.00 bare bones system for example and add a 580M card (under "other" in video card section) it will change price from $1,499.99 to $1,649.99

    - Well they cancelled my original order(from June 29, 2011) for reasons I have yet to call in and ask about but if I can get a bare bones unit with the 580M this cheap I'd be dumb not to try ;) Submitted order for one.. came to sub-total 1848.98 since I threw in a 50 dollar cooling pad.. maybe that is crap I don't know. After crazy taxes in ontario it is almost 2100 but better then the 2600 I was gonna pay on last order.

    - Linky to summery page so you guys can see the subtotal before I finalized order: http://imageshack.us/f/651/cheapalienware580mgtx.jpg/

    - I paid with paypal since I know they have no issues removing money from my credit card... so dell can't blame my payment method if this doesn't work

The upgrade for the mobility 6970 was cheap too at the beginning at orderes were honored.
I say as long as you got proof and get charged there's no going back ;)

Hmm...thinking of ordering one, putting all the good stuff from my current machine into it, and selling my old one. Not sure if it's worth all the hassle though.
