Sometimes when I click one of the buttons on the list of buttons in the top right corner of the laptop (mute, etc), nothing happens. An example of this is when I have a full screen program like Crysis open. Is it because of the full screen? It would be wonderful to be able to use the volume control buttons there inside full screen games, is it possible at all?

Great, now playing around with that mute button and audio cables for my speaker setup, the on board speakers aren't working anymore.
EDIT: Ok, now i have a serious problem. I wanted to test my speakers using the IDT control center thing, and it crashed as it was making the buzzing sound. Now, any sound I play through the computer, whether it be music, or through the on board speakers or external speakers, it plays the buzzing sound instead. I've restarted and the problem isn't resolved.
EDIT: I fixed the problem by going to the IDT thing and changing the setup from 5.1 to stereo. I think the problem has something to do with the way I'm plugging in my speakers. I have three cords, green, black, and orange, and I'm putting them in the 2 audio, and 1 s/pdif port. Is this correct? When I play music or anything in 5.1 mode, it sais windows media player doesn't support it. I can only use stereo. -
I have the problem when playing certain games that the media doesnt respond too. Some game it works (BFBC2, Mass effect 2, portal 2) others it doesnt (crysis, Black Ops)
Its never really bothered me though. They always work in Windows, although sometimes the Eject CD doesnt eject the friggin CD even though the on screen symbol comes up (but i blame that on software rather then hardware)
Hope you havent damaged any connections or hardware.
