Last night I was playing skyrim and when I exited I opened Firefox and attempted to load a web page, my computer froze up completely to the point to where explorer.exe crashed and I could not get task manager open. I attempted to restart and run malware bytes and it froze and went through the same process about 7 minutes into the scan. I attempted to boot into safe mode and it got hung up on an avast driver, so I uninstalled avast, after that it would still not boot into safe mode. I called tech support and they had me run the built in diagnostic on it. It came back with an error code on my main hard drive (an SSD I added myself) and he told me that it was that hard drive that was the issue. I managed to get SanDisk SSD toolkit installed and it said my SSD was fine. the error code I got was 2000-0151 with validation number 119402. I have no idea why it won't work. It has attempted to run chkdsk a few times and it gets hung up about 65% of the way through and never finishes. does anybody have any ideas?

If yours is not under warranty anymore, have a look at what I use...This is very stable and have had zero problems...

It should be noted that OP left a little information out (I know the OP). CrystaldiskInfo returned the same results as the Sandisk utility. SMART reported absolutely nothing wrong with the drive. No errors at all. Though I know SMART is not always 100% accurate, are there any other ideas other than replacing? SSDs are not cheap and I would like to exhaust all routes before OP spends the money to replace it. Alienware isn't very helpful because it is a 3rd party drive.
Also, it is an Alienware 17 mfg in 2014 if it helps. -
The OP can afford an Alienware he can afford a SSD. Jk
My suggestion is to find or borrow a SSD or even a HDD to test. But my 2 cents is the SSD is busted. I had once bought a Sandisk SSD and it didn't last long.
Get a more reliable SSD.

It sounds like a drive failure. I had a similar issue a couple of years ago with the computer locking up and failing. All the disk check programs said my SSD was fine. The only check program that finally found it was Microsoft Check-Disk and you need to tick the 'scan for bad sectors'.
Right Click the C Drive in 'My Computer', select 'Properties', 'Tools', 'Error Checking' and then select Scan for bad sectors. Depending on the size of the drive it will take a long time.MogRules likes this. -

It does sound like the SSD failed. If you are still in warranty (or if it's from DELL). Send us an e-mail to [email protected] and we´ll help as much as we can.
Total Failure?
