I can certainly see why the developers added this in, but when I am using the 17 for productivity (80% of the time), the trackpad disable feature really drives me crazy. I am currently using an external mouse, but I would rather fix the root issue...
Anyone have the solution?
(ps sorry if someone already posted this, but I did search around and couldn't find any fix)

I'm not sure what you mean. You want to disable the trackpad permanently?

My bad. I mean how the trackpad will temporarily disable when you type on the keyboard... that includes quick things like copying and pasting too....

Check your synaptics driver page (under control panel mouse) there will be a setting for 'touch check' which prevents accidental palm touches when typing. But can delay normal touches at the same time. Might want to up the sensitivity as well that might help?

Here is how you do that.
