    Turn off Hyper-Threading to help overclock?

    Reading a few posts @ desktop overclocking forums, some mentioned that there is a tip to help the overclocking.

    Considering Hyper-Threading really not used in games, plus M17x and M18x are default with quad-core CPU. The Hyper-Threading can be turn off with almost no impact to performance. In the meantime, the upper limit of overclock can be increase by 200MHz (rule of thumb).

    Just curious anyone actually have experience can verify this approach?

    PS. In order to turn off Hyper-Threading, one needs the unlock BIOS
