so what settings in command center and in windows should be done in order to automatically turn off the screen when the computer is left alone downloading anything! Because when it automatically turn off, it leaves the screen with a little brightness, and I want it to be completely dark !

    Thanks !

I've tried every combination of power settings and nothing seems to work. Seems to be a bug in the current drivers.

same here. all you can do is close the lid, and tell the computer not to shut off when the lid is closed. I make a "Night Server" power profile for this very reason.

I use windows power settings and just turn off the display while plugged in to turn off in 1 minute.

Also - I turn off the keyboard lighting and the T-Box with the FN key + F-whatever.

    Hope that helps.

If in power settings to have enbled for the screen turn off (not dim) after a certain amount of time, make sure there are no graphical programs running in the background/foreground (such as music visualization art, any video and recently I have discovered the screen wont turn off if flash videos are playing). After that you can leave your computer idle and at first it will dim the screen then it will turn it off.

I already did the settings on CC, and I also turned the keyboards lights off... just in case, but the same thing ! I just want to sleep without having something giving off light... But I don't want to close the lid, because I don't know if it affects the lcd in anyway, besides... don't I don't want to open/close the lcd that much because I'm afraid it'll wear off

Alienware CC is a program that communicates with a lot of windows programs, they are all just in one easy to use program instead of being all over the place. more often than not (because the software is crap) it dose not install right. if alienware CC is not working, just use the windows settings. people should beware when updating or installing alienware CC as it is a touchy program that can (if not installed right) can cause permanent problems with the computer. many people have told me updating to the newer version of the alienware CC solved many problems like the ones you are having, but again, some have told tails about it not installing right. this resulted in killing the lighting chip on the main board, and screwing with windows settings. so, when installing, make sure you read all steps.

Just change what happens when you close the lid so that the screen turns off. In the power settings in Alien Co centre
