I am looking at the M17xR2 in the Dell Outlet, and they have several models with the 1900x1200 screen. However, the one I am looking at just says "Ultrasharp 1900x1200 LCD", not RGB LED.

So are they different or is it a typo?

So both should be the RGB LED?

They have different part numbers when you look at the details though

The screens aren't all manufactured by the same company. LG and Samsung? I'm probably wrong about the two companies, but if you get the 1920x1200, you'll be getting the RGB LED.

There is actually a small chance that the screen is a 1920x1200 CCFL which is not the RGBLED. This is rare but it does occur so I would double check to make sure,..

Hmmm. That really sucks. I didn't know that. To be safe, don't get the one that doesn't specifically say RGB LED.

Yeah it was apparently an option ordering for a very very short amount of time but occasionally they will still pop up on refurbs and/or will get stuck in a screen replacement for the R2, so they tend to pop up at really awkward moments.

Good to know. Thanks for the info. The model I picked out was a refurb. Looked great, but I really want the RGB LED screen so I had to pass. +1 rep JaiaV

That's right, i heard somebody "complaining" about this,he also thaught that being a R2 he'll definitely get the RGB if it's 1920x1200 but it actually was the dual CCFL like on the R1. They are not bad at all,i love mine but if you really want the RGB for whatever reason then you should pick the one that states so or call Dell.
