8 beeep code is LCD failure... 6 beep is GPU failure.. Something;'s wrong with your LCD... Are you sure it's 8 beeps and not 6?

Reseat LCD cable and LCD power then try again. Laptop won't start without working LCD even if you connect other monitor through hdmi

I've seen the 8 beeps more than once and it was still the GPU and not the LCD so I guess there are circumstances where a GPU failure shows as LCD.

The 675m was a terrible card (it was a rebadged 580m) and I had multiple failures as well as helping at least 10 people here with failures. Sometimes just installing a new driver was all it took for the card to take a hike.

A couple of things to try but I think you're going to be looking for a replacement card (The 680m is a plug-and-play fit and is a huge step up!).

Remove the card and clean the edge connector with alcohol. You don't need to separate the heatsink and after removing the fan the whole assembly can be removed from the MB with two screws.

Remove the coin cell CMOS battery and hold down the power button. This should reset the BIOS and if the machine starts you will get a date/time error but you can ignore that as windows will fix it.

    Good luck.

Sounding like the GPU has gone bad. Did the flash go OK and the machine worked until you restarted it?

There is no way unless you reprogram the vBIOS chip which you won't know how to do.. See if a computer shop can do this for you otherwise time to get a new GPU

Something must have gone wrong with the flash is what I think. Either that or it was about to fail anyway and the flash pushed it over the brink?

Either way I don't see any fix except maybe sending it off to be flashed. Even then if it's gone bad you'll be wasting money.

I just checked but I've deleted all my 675 stuff. I still have the card and heatsink that dell supplied when the last one failed. I only used it for a month before I got the 680m. I keep it for warranty but that runs out in June and i'm not renewing it so I guess I have one for sale?

Even if it was a bad flash just as micky has pointed out these cards are terrible and are KNOWN to die in a relatively short time frame. I'd recommend a new card like a 680M.

Honestly the cheapest would be to fix the 675M then sell it for around 200 to 300 and buy a 680M. The card will continue to give you problems :\.

I paid £260.00 for a used 680m about 6 months ago (ebay or it might have been the marketplace on NBR, can't remember ) FWIW...
