I had my laptop working fine this morning, but when I went to plug in a powered usb hub, the computer shut off almost immediately. Now it refuses to boot or do anything at all. I didn't see a spark or smell anything, but I'm going to assume that it short circuited somehow.

I've unplugged the power charger and battery and even the bios battery inside for about 2 hours and it still refuses to do anything. The light on the power charger does not go out when plugged into a laptop which is something that I've seen happen before on a dead motherboard.

Does anyone have any ideas or am I basically hosed? The warranty on this laptop expired a month ago.

    Thanks.

There is nothing you can do besides sending the PC into repairs. We have some options available for out of warranty customers. Send me a PM with your service tag number and I'll help you out as much as I can.
