Can anyone confirm whether or not this adapter supports monitor/promiscuous mode in Windows and/or Linux? I've seen some places that state it doesn't and then some that says it does as well as supports injection.

It is against the forum rules to be discussing methods of breaking wifi networks....

Sorry must have missed that part. Would it help if I mentioned it wasn't for illegal purposes of breaking networks but in fact legitimate security purposes? (No I'm not lying just to get an answer).

Was just asking because I just gave my previous laptop to a family member (BECAUSE it didn't support the features and for me it's a feature I *need* to have.)

Yeah, there's always some guy who sees a key word and assumes they know what the op asking is and thinks he needs to play hall monitor. I would actually like to know the answer to the op's questions too.

Promiscuous mode is only used to break wifi networks? Did not know that.

Guess I better stop using it for valid troubleshooting purposes. I must be an evil hacker and not know it.

All kidding aside, I too would be interested in the answer and will be finding out whenever my R3 arrives in the mail.
