I need to restore my computer, however, my Paragon USB boot drive won't boot in my M17x R4. It works in ALL other machines, except for this one. Anyone else getting this issue?

I'm guessing the Intel BIOS RAID thing is causing some kind of incompatibility issue.

Any expert IT people know of any workarounds?

Try using the eSATA/USB combo port if you have not already done so. Press F12 during POST and select the USB option.

UEFI + SAFE/FAST boot might not let it boot as well. Might want to try disabling them from the BIOS.

Thanks, tried this but it still didn't work :(

I'm not exactly sure what this is?

I looked in the BIOS and there was a Boot page with UEFI, but in UEFI, there weren't any options?

You should be able to select UEFI and change it to legacy I think, I don't have my laptop around so I can't check. There will be a option below for legacy boot support as well that needs to be enabled.

Actually this is something a bit more involved (sinister M$ style). Sometime last year Micrsoft changed its policy and the Paragon USB bootable drive could no longer be bundled with the right software to boot windows. Instead you have to download a separate boot loader from WinPE and assemble your bootable USB drive manually.
I know the "old" bootable USB Paragon worked fine last year, now it doesnt. ( I should confirm by booting o

From Paragon: "We would like to inform you that Microsoft has changed its license conditions, meaning that software vendors will no longer be allowed to offer WinPE media directly. We recommend you to upgrade to the latest version of your product to get access to our new Paragon Boot Media builder which allows you to create a WinPE boot media yourself."

Yes, I think sinister is an excellent way to describe it. Micro$oft is really pressing all the wrong buttons and they need to be watching their P's and Q's with this sort of thing. They're going to make the wrong people angry if they're not careful, and it will be financially devasting to them if they keep pursuing idiotic changes to their OS. Their stupidity is taking them a direction the opposite of what their are trying to accomplish through draconian controls... they'll end up dying instead of flourishing. Windows power users won't tolerate that kind of nonsense for very long. That type of garbage has held Apple back from achieving greatness for years... and they are still the "Masters of Meh" because of it. Monkey see, monkey do... they obviously have the wrong people in charge of decision-making at Micro$oft right now. Bring back Mr. Gates and get the ship pointed back in the right direction. Fire the stupid scum employees that are trying to make a Windows OS more like crApple. Nobody should have any control on how the hardware can be used by end users once it has been sold and leaves the shelf at the store... nobody.

For the first ever time in my life, Linux is looking like it might become a better alternative than Windows. All they lack is gaming (the available selection is pathetic) at this point. But, once UEFI 3.0 is out in full force, Windows will be the only OS that will boot. Yes, sinister is very accurate. Maybe even an understatement. Immoral and unethical also comes to mind as fitting descriptions.
