Hi, i tried to update my little Alien. I want to build an 6990 into it and i have a few questions to guys who did this before. First of all, does the original Cooler fit on the new one? Then i need a VBIOS for the Card. Can anyone send me one for the 6990 in an M17x? Is their any difficulty to mount or flash the Card?

    thanks for help

if you have to ask, let some one do it if you do not know the asked things, no offence but i see a bricked card in the future.

is it a dell card of clevo?
    same cooler should work fine.

Follow this Guide Skip the part where you disable the igp. If its a dell card no need for a vbios, if its for clevo i think u need the dell 6990m vbios. Also for the heatsink i think its better just to buy a amd heat sink so it doesn't cause you problems. Go to part 3 on how to flash the vbios Here

just to add, make sure you get the proper X plate on the back of the 6990. For example, the dell cards typically come with the x plate attached on the back. The clevo cards require an additional purchase

I already Flash Cards before, but only in Desktop Systems. The Card is an Clevo i get it this week. The Package include the Card, Screws, the "X Plate" and the Headsink. The Headsink is for an Deviltech so i dont know if fit's in my System.
