Hi, I'm having some troubles updating my HD 6970M in my Alienware M17x.

According to Dell Driver Support, I already have the latest drivers the 8.851.2.

These are the latest drivers for laptops with switchable graphics, as mine has.
However, I've been lead to believe the 8.9 something driver also works on my configuration.
Normally, when I download a driver, the install screen stops at "Your hardware is compatible" etc, but with a download link I found on this forum (
    http://www2.ati.com/DriVeRs/mobile/12-4_mobility_vista_win7_64_dd_ccc.exe)
it would progress further into the download. However, mid-installation I get a BSOD and I have to roll back (using Device Manager) my graphic card to its previous driver.

Is what I heard false? Is it a bad idea, or simply not worth it, to try and update to 8.9? If not, could you help me with the installation process?
