I currently have a m17xr3 with the radeon 6900m hd vid card and its just not cutting it for bf4 and I would like to upgrade my laptop because new games r getting more demanding. Currently have 8gb of ram and raid hard drive setup. Any suggestions on good ss drives for the money? Also, do I need more ram? If you could recommend a good overall setup for not TO much money that would be great :)

You can upgrade the 6990M to a 7970M or even the 780/880M.. They're probably the most important upgrades to carry out. Also you can upgrade your CPU to a 2920/2960XM... Lastly, you should get about 4GB more RAM and some good SSD drives would be Scandisk Extreme II which I have, Samsung 840Pro etc...

For gaming purposes it's better just to upgrade the video card. The rest of the components aren't really outdated. The CPU would be the next logical step but I believe that 8Gb RAM is more than enough.

I disagree about the RAM.. I've used 8GB easily in BF4 and in newer, games like Wolfenstein and Watchdogs, people are using more than 11GB RAM... A RAM upgrade is needed...

I do not believe Watch dogs ram usage goes too high during the gaming (just menu here, but in game it does not need anywhere near 8gb). 8GB of RAM is still plenty for any game in my own experience at least. Graphics card would be the main update for games, SSD - for general usage, it just makes everything you do a lot faster. Some games are CPU intensive, but I would rather get GPU and SSD first.
Good SSD - Samsung 840 Evo 250GB+ (don't buy 120GB as it has lower specs than the rest in Evo range)
    GPU - 7970M or GTX 680M/780M

Same for me, I don't believe it's needed however some users recommend 12 or 16.

8 Gigs is a good amount of RAM but it never hurts to have more, if you can afford it. If it were me, I'd upgrade the video card first and see if the performance is acceptable for you.

Ebay... You can get upgrade kits... Personally, I would get the 780M...
