Hi Guru's,:hi2:
I Have a Alienware M17X R3 with GTX460M Intel Core i7-2630QM CPU @ 2.00GHz and 8.00GB Ram. I have no Idea about Graphic cards but I like to play games. Recently a Dell Representative checked my laptop and confirmed my 460M has been Damaged(I am not sure if he is right). I am Planning to replace it with a GTX 675M Graphic card bougth from ebay. I have few Question;
1: Is it a Good option to Upgade from GTX460M to 675M. Can my Laptop Handle the GTX675M Well?
2:Mine is a 3D Laptop. Does all the GTX675 come with 3D and does 3D work if I change the card?
Please find the Attachment Images of my Laptop. Any help would be a lot Helpful.

If you already purchased the 675m you might as well try it. You shouldn't have that much trouble with the drivers, however the 3d may not work because the R3 doesn't have the 3D controller for the 675m as it is not a validated card for this system.
On the other hand, if haven't purchased the 675m, you might as well get a 580m which is about the same card and will fit in your R3 like a charm with all its features working correctly -
I can confirm the 675m will work fine, you just have to INF mod your drivers. The 580m is the same thing and works without INF modding.

Thanks for the Advice Luis. But I already bought a 675M. Is ther any way we could get the 3D working?

Hi Yoda,
Thats seems like a good news. Is there any chance you were able to get the 3D to work?
Thanks for the reply -
If 3D is a big deal then the 580m is a better choice, since it is the same card and likely cheaper now since people view it as last generation.
I think 3D may work on an external display with the 675m, but I don't think it will ever work with the laptop 3D screen. -

I expect it should work fine and activate 3D. If the 580m can use the 675m vbios, then I am 99% sure that the same can be done vice versa.
Upgrade GTX460M to GTX675M in R3
