    I just got a new alienware 17r4 with the gtx1080 4k 1tb ssd +1tb hdd 16gb ram

My older alienware 17r3 was sold to get the new one it had the gtx980 I also had the graphic amplifier with a gtx1080

So my first alienware the 17r or the 17ranger with the gtx 765 32gb ram 1tb msata and 2tb of hhds went to the wife don't want to get rid of it as it is one of the best laptops I have ever used my wife also loves the thing my wife does play a few games on it but it is getting to the point where games are starting to slow

She in to call of duty ww2 sniper-elite 4 assassin's Creed so they are pretty serious games the old beast aw17 ranger has been playing these games but not the best

Should I sell the aw17 ranger and the graphics adapter with the gtx1080 and buy her a used Alienware r3 - r4 or should I just sell the graphic adapter with the gtx1080 and get a gtx980m and slap it in the aw17r1

if it has eDP then go for a 1060 instead. Runs way cooler and has more performance.

I can link you to nice seller if you're looking for an MXM upgrade.

If she likes the ranger so much, then i'd suggest upgrading it.

If you can find a 980M cheaper than 1060, I'd get the 980M.

If you have the 120hz display, you can get 1060 or 1070 from @Eurocom Support
