    my m17x r2 is equiped with basic i5 520

    If I upgrade it with Intel i7 620M 2.4GHz to Turbo 3.066GHz 4MB L3 ES

will I get better noticeable performance in gaming, playing mostly dcuo and rift beta till release.

Heard its pretty bad for gaming, the i5 that is. I dont wanna put too much money for a i800+.

could get the i7 for a bit more then 100 bucks

It won't make that much of difference. I'd say, depending on the game, about an increase in 2-3fps. You'll notice major differences when you get to quad cores though. Save a bit more and go with an entry level quad like a 720qm or 740qm.

A ES 920XM costs not much more than a OEM i7-720QM, I'd rather grab an extreme CPU ;)

Agree with Aikimox. Just wait until you can get a 920XM. They're $410 on eBay right now.

Yes, another vote for a 920xm ES... you should be able to grab one on ebay for less than 400$... check regularly and ask the sellers.

This will give you a nice boost (especially paired with throttlestop)
