Hey guys, this might be a silly question. I have th m17x r3 with the single amd graphics card as this was all I could afford at the time, just wondering if I can upgrade this to the 2gig 6970?

If so, where could I buy this cheapest?

I had a quick look around but no luck, searching on the iPhone is a pain.

Bout as cheap as you'll get it for a while. I figured somewhere around $700.

I believe if you have the regular 60hz screen then it is possible to swap to the 6970. From what I've seen, you can either purchase it directly from Dell or from eBay/other suppliers, with eBay/others being cheaper, but unreliable warranty.
