    Hey guys,
I upgraded my old 1600x900 crapola LG panel that came stock on my Alienware 17 that replaced my R4 (and Dell shafted me with.... leaving that spec out when they shipped it to me)

Anyhow, I purchased a glossy 1920x1080 panel from laptopscreen.com simply because I like more vibrant colors on my panel since it is pretty much always used indoors. I asked for a Sharp, Toshiba, or AUO panel, and I got a AUO panel :D

It is VERY nice, a huge upgrade over the old 1600x900 panel in terms of color vibrancy and of course, resolution. I have one little niggling issue however. While on Intel HD 4600, the LCD operates fine regardless of power source and switching between the two power sources is fine (battery/AC). However on the AMD Radeon 8970M, if I change power source, the LCD begins to flicker.....I have to change the refresh rate manually to get rid of the flickering. This only happens if I change power source (battery>AC or AC>battery).
I have tried reinstalling both the intel and AMD radeon drivers, but the problem persists. I have proper switching graphics and brightness control, just this weird flicker issue on discrete only. Any ideas?

I've personally never seen this particular issue. Did you try reseating the LCD cables?

I did the same thing that you did, I do not have screen flicker at all on my machine.
