hello, my problem is that my m17x r4 had 900p screen (horrible) and i wanted to upgrade it with a full hd screen so i bought this one

    Alienware M17x R3 R4 17 3" Full HD 1920 x 1080p LED LCD Screen MGNC7 VCV1F | eBay

the seller told me if i want better quality screen he could ship a 3d capable so i can enjoy 120 refresh but not the 3d since i got r4 and 7970m.. so i said yes
the screen arrived and it had a diferent connector, its connector has 2 screws at each side, but my old screen just have the connector without the screw, so i connected the new screen into the mother board connector with the 2 screw, when i turn the laptop on i heard 8 beeps, and the screen totally of, any logo turned on, or the back logo didnt turn on either, so i searched and found a trick with the battery cell in the cmos, it didnt work either, so i connected my old 900p screen again and everything work, i dont know if i had to do a previus step before putting the new screen i need help

sorry for my english if u need any other info just ask

    my pc info is
    m17x r4 7970m 16 gb ram, i7 3820QM

    hi any help plz?

the back side of the new screen say that the panel model is LG LP173WF2
    LG Display LP173WF2-TPA1 Overview - Panelook.com

You have to run a nVidia GPU. AMD can't run 120hz screen. Once you upgrade your GPU to nVidia, it should work. even a 460m will work.

It is I'm afraid (or buy an NV card!) Until Intel and AMD add 120hz microcode (and the standard states only 60hz required) you can only use an NV card with a native 120hz display. The different connector is used to completely bypass the iGPU so it is not seen in POST. It would cause exactly the same issue you have, it fails POST if it sees it :(
