I bought it off their ebay site and they messaged me and asked me about my pc. They said since I have a 3d screen, the new card with fry my mobo so they either won't sell it to me or they will sell it with absolutely no refunds even if the card arrives broken.......

Any ideas where?

Alienware-Wasserman Company Representative
Here's a link with the other Nvidia resellers.

That's a great resource thank you
-
Well I thought it was good until literally none of them sell the card....

-
I am in the us. I'll try that

Eurocom they are nice, i baught a lot with them, from their website or ebay.

It's a r3
iv seen posts about people putting in 980m into their r3s but only with the 60hz screen and I have the 120. Plus it's $400 more haha. The 780 should get me by for a couple more years till I buy a new laptop
-
i baught barebone at good price and they sold any componants you ask, even edp cable. And their price depends but correct, a new 980m for 750euro is a good price, it's not overpriced.

What you can try with upgrademonkey is to sent a link from this site showing gtx780m is full working in your R3 120Hz. And saying you have experience and you will screen your upgrading to show in any case you are not responsible for any damage.
-
Yea I found a auction for a new one on ebay. Got it for a way better price then upgrade monkey anyway and it has a 1 year warrentee

Yes I did. It's dell

Apologies for the necro, I've just had exactly the same response from them trying to buy a GTX680M for my M17XR4 with a GTX675M already in it. Reason:Cannot work for 3D Screen. Really??
This is the item I purchased - http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/26126859...1&exe=12809&ext=32584&sojTags=exe=exe,ext=ext
Machine specs are:
M17XR4
3720QM CPU
GTX675M GPU - Currently Dead
120Hz 3D FHD Display
1TB 5400 mSATA
Boot SSD
From what I've researched the 680M should work and should work well, I do not want another 675M under any circumstances. Have I ordered the wrong card?
Thanks -
just get a 970m and you get more performance.

Thanks for the replies.
I really didn't want the hassle of 7xx/8xx/9xx cards to be honest, and my desktop is my dedicated gaming rig anyway so it really didn't make sense to go crazy on a 3 year old laptop. I only wanted to get the AW going again so I could play portal with my daughter on the living room tv and run my business with it.
Upgrademonkey did end up sending me the card but tried to make me forgo my warranty claiming that the card would not be compatible, I insisted on a DOA warranty in the end and they tested before shipping. I video'd the unboxing also in case there was any pre-existing damage but everything was good and well packed. As suspected, card went straight in and worked perfectly with literally no stuffing about at all. I did wonder if this might be something they do to avoid warranty claims but I honestly can't be sure. Seemed very strange to say the least -
if you got a 900m card you could game on the go.
Upgrademonkey won't sell me a Nvidia 780m
