I'm not new to laptops or Dell so i figure the answer is "you can't", but my m17x r3 with a 6990m is sitting at FedEX awaiting pickup and i got to wondering: how upgradeable are Dell laptops? I know I can do an SSD or RAM, but, in a couple of years, can I put in a new processor when the price falls? Is a second slot open for another card if I want to crossfire a 7990m (or whatever card is out by then)?

I ask because my old Dell couldn't upgrade for squat but my HP was great and the graphics card was removeable and it went from C2Duo to the C2Quad like a champ.

I figure I can look when i get it tonight, but I thought this would be a fun technical discussion void of too many flame wars and fanbois. (See? I can make jokes with my words.)

The R3 is not CrossFire/SLI compatible unlike the R1 and R2. Accessing the processor and graphics card in the R3 is very easy unlike other notebooks I've dealt with (@#$% you Toshiba!).
