I know this has probably been covered before, but does anyone know if I can upgrade my M17X laptop from my current HD4870 crossfire configuration to the new HD5870 crossfire?

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    Wes

    My thoughts:
I'd look at the power requirements of your existing video cards. Then compare that with the existing ones. If there is a really big difference then I'd ask Tech Services, since that will tax your battery and the power brick even more. Back in the 766 days you could upgrade to your hearts content as long as you did not draw any more watts. An example would be a new hard drive say a 250g @0.5watt vs a [email protected] that normally came in those. The drives today 250g take the very same power wattage as the old one did. No brainer.
